        So a mud room. It’s a small room to remove dirty/wet clothes. If it’s the back door, not unheard of for there to be a balcony porch type area too.

          It’s not a mud room, it’s full of pots and has a balcony into another room, it also has an air-conditioner. A mud room is like a cloak room where you put shoes shoes etc, there’s no way it would have a balcony into another living area.

            lol, never put some stuff in a mud room for storage? The one thing looks like it could be a smoker, pull it in out of weather.

              Nah I just don’t think it’s a mud room, there’s too much random shit in there. I think it’s more likely that someone designed their own house without consulting an architect and ended up with a whole lot of nonsense.

                This looks like a Mexican (or maybe SA) gated residence. There’s generally less distinction made between inside and outside. Only some parts of the house are deliberately sealed for HVAC. But it’s an afterthought. The original architecture was designed to encourage airflow. This part of the house for example is an open corridor that the wind blows through. And yes, the property has been gradually expanded by local smalltime contractors, probably friends.
