I’ve found alternatives to almost all proprietary software; all that remains is to replace the networks themselves, which are controlled by corporations and governments. That will be a bit more difficult.

on phone i use both CoMaps or Organic Maps depending what i need. When wanting info about restaurants or something i go to the browser with open street maps
Because CoMaps/OrganicMaps does not use that info although OSM provides it?
yes. I guess they just dont save it because they are both for offline use
Hmm, for me thats probably the thing that makes Google Maps so useful, even more so than the navigation itself.
It does for me, I assume they mean reviews and stuff. Google maps is just the best source for those.
