      Why are you laying down at the dentist office? Usually you sit. Are you sure you’re going to a licensed facility? If the dentist has to put you under anesthesia for every procedure, that’s a major red flag.

      Typically it is called a chair.

      Also, my dentist just uses suction, I never have to spit anywhere. There’s a sink nearby and sometimes thy give me some mouthwash or something and I can spit in there. Ive never felt the need to spit anywhere while I’m in the chair.

        I understand it works for people, that’s why they don’t do it. But me for example have a gag reflex where either I need to control the suction tube, or I need to spit. Before moving to US, I’ve always seen dentist chair with a little sink next to it, so I think it is a good convenience.

        Maybe consider it like slopes on the sidewalk, or the tactile pavements. You don’t need it, but it’s there for people who need it, and is kind of an standard now.

          I’m with ya. Them suctioning most of it isn’t good enough cause once something triggers my reflex I just need to spit or the feeling doesn’t go away. I wish there was a mini sink next to the chair to quickly spit so that I can feel like I can breathe
