Yeah, maybe the poll should be on the comment.
I would have done polls with StrawPoll. But be aware to enable voting for VPN users, as its disabled by default.
Or use a different platform or wait for Lemmy 1.0
Or simply allow natural, full-fledged discourse occur, instead of attempting to simplify complex opinions into two numbers.

Well said. And I found computer stuff rarely to be a yes/no thing in the first place. It’s almost always a …well, depends… where are we going with this?.. there’s ten puzzle pieces which fit here and they all come with consequences and side-effects and form a different bigger picture.
I get the questions, though. And the desire for there to be simple answers to things like, should I install CachyOS? Should I buy 32GB of RAM, put a web application firewall infront of my webserver… There’s also a lot of opinions out there regarding those things.
