    It’s worse than that, because “to queue something” can mean “to add it to a queue” such as to the queue of music. In some music players, queueing a track while nothing is playing will also start playing it. So in that specific circumstance, the meaning is pretty much the same.

    But the idiom is broader than that; you could say “cue man falling out of window” to mean that a man should fall out of a window right now. There’s no queue of people falling out of windows, I hope.
