They knew an action was imminent and wanted it as an excuse. I think neither knew of the scope. I don’t buy the ‘we didn’t think our targets were supposed to be civilians but we killed them anyway’ excuse. And you’re ignoring the constant missiles being fired indiscriminately at Israel civilians. Regardless, Israel has overreacted to such an extent that is not an reaction but a separate action of malice. I believe they have lost their right to exist as a country in its current form.
