    The only way I can imagine the data giving away trade secrets is if this is a dump of the whole database for the Springshot system including database schema information, rather than an export of some more specific data considered to belong to the airline.

    If so, is there no established legality around that? If you buy a software system and install it on your server, do you have the right to share the database schema just because you can access it and it contains your data?

    If that’s not the situation, how exactly would the data give away Springshot proprietary information?

    To give an analogy, if I bought an email server that used a database, I’d expect to be able to export all email messages from it, but I wouldn’t expect to be able to share their database schema (even in the form of a data dump whose format simply revealed the shape of the schema) but I really don’t know the legality of that. It’s a scenario that’s been around forever though, so I’d expect there to be settled legal precedent already.
