I’ve stopped using Lemmy. I mainly use social media to hear and talk about what’s happening around me, but Lemmy feels stuck on memes and U.S. news. It doesn’t seem like anyone’s trying to change that, so I’m moving to Instagram where I can actually follow local stuff and people I know.
To each his/her/their own, but just realize that Zuck will be spying on you the entire time you’re on Instagram. Have you looked at Pixelfed?

+1 on checking in Pixelfed. Lemmy -> Instagram isn’t comparable user experience. But given the closing comment about “local stuff and people I know” then odds are they won’t be on Pixelfed either.
