For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

Holy shit. All these years, I never understood the dolphins were criticizing us for New York and the wheel. I always thought, when did they invent stuff?

I don’t think I have any subscriptions, unless you count like phone/Internet. There’s plenty of entertainment for free or cheap. check out your local library.

We’re never going to get most people to care or be willing to be a little uncomfortable, but can you imagine the impact if everyone just canceled their subscriptions all at once? Disney executives would be jumping out windows. Youtube’s office would be blood soaked.

I have two things that I subscribe to

My coffee (all ethically sourced, compostable pods, not “nespresso” and owned by Australians) and my wine club (buying excess stock with spelling mistakes on the labels etc. that would otherwise be scrapped)

I don’t pay for TV or movies or music. I listen to the radio.
