    you can have differences of usage even within metric. english speaking countries seem to dislike centimeters, for example. they’ll say 150mm instead of 15cm, from what i’ve observed. they’ll avoid decagrams too.

      It’s usually to do with precision.

      150mm means 150mm, but 15cm means between 145mm and 155mm.
