Fuck flock, no doubt about it, but I really don’t see the problem with this training example. The no kings protest were/are held all over the US, sometimes for multiple weeks. It is an example most officers will have some degree of experience with, and monitoring large masses of people for safety is totally normal police activity. The trainer specifically mentions keep officers out of the middle of everything, and then monitoring large crowd activity for signs of calamity. Frankly, I’d consider that model behavior for security at a large event. Stay out of the way, and watch for violent crazies. If I thought police would actually do what this training described, I’d be much more supportive of police than I am.
