Maybe I’m missing something obvious here, but why would you interpret “because of who is running it” as a racist dog whistle?
who would be the first kind of person to be the “suspicious guy running around”, as opposed to a regular guy?
why would they need that distinction in the first place when it’s just a so-called “car show”?
