Minimal OS, Your WayWe’ve heard from a lot of you who love what we’re building, but want the option to take privacy even further. So we’re making that possible.Minimal Phone 2 will ship with Google services by default, giving you the compatibility most people expect right out of the box, including the Play Store, Google Play Services, banking apps, payments, and everything else that depends on them. But you won’t be locked into that experience. For those who want a de-Googled Minimal Phone 2, we’ll be releasing an official de-Googled version of Minimal OS and providing the full ROM for you to flash yourself. That means you’ll be able to run Minimal OS without Google services while still keeping the experience we’re building around the keyboard, Minimal Hub, Commands, and the rest of the OS.We won’t be shipping a separate de-Googled device. Every Minimal Phone 2 will ship with the standard Google-certified software, and users who want the privacy-focused version will be able to make that choice themselves. One phone. Two paths.Use Google if you want it.Remove it if you don’t.The choice should be yours.
The bootloader can be unlocked, doesn’t clarify if it can be relocked. An unlocked bootloader is a security problem.
We have no information about the degoogled OS. What happens when an app needs Google Play Services? Does the OS have a Sandboxed version or microG?
The project is too short on details for me to give an informed opinion.
