The post pointed out an inconsistency, anyone would expect an unkempt person to not shave their armpits. Perhaps the director missed this (as they often do, there’s a lot of inconsistencies in films and more so in shows) in this case, or just didnt care.
But if a role required armpit hair (or literally anything else), then it would be expected the auditioning actors would be willing to grow it or wear fake etc. If they wont or cannot, then it’s totally reasonable for someone else to be cast instead.
An expectation that an actor tries their best to fill their role is absolutely okay. Just because you have a personal issue with armpit hair, doesnt mean it should not be a factor in aesthetics of a character.
