Just to make sure I don’t accidentally be an asshole, when downloading stuff from Soulseek, is it customary to add the stuff you download to shared files? I’m relatively new to this so I’m unsure what the customary standards are.
Edit: I appreciate the answers! For anyone new finding the thread, the answer is “share if you can.”

The usual thing is to share something. If it’s super common most people don’t care, if it’s rare, sharing it again to increase uptime is good. Sharing your own stuff is even better to widen what’s available.
You will run into people who will auto ban you if you aren’t sharing something. I think that’s a bit extreme and dumb myself but eh, it is what it is.
Lol I remember when I had trouble setting up slskd in docker, when I was learning. I couldnt figure out how to properly setup my shared files directory and was getting auto banned by people and couldnt figure out why. Then I finally figured it out and got it working. It is a bit dumb to auto ban for that but as you said, it is what it is.
