I’m sure there are perfectly valid reasons for them to take full control of our discord accounts and this won’t be abused.

Hahaha do people still use this spyware?
Ahahahahah!
At that point, baking a cake is the least of your worries.
Not trying to defend them, and I haven’t looked at the feature set of the new Discord integration, but I can imagine a reason for most of those - assuming, of course, that you can basically chat in through WoW on discord.
Afaik it links channels, but to know if your profile is in the server the channel is on, or join you there, it would need to manage and read servers, no? Of course, there are probably better ways how to do that, that respect your privacy a little bit more.
The friendlist I’m having a hard time justifying, can you send DMs from WoW?
But I do honestly wonder how would a MVP permission set looked like if you tried implementing the same integration they are doing, whatever it is.
But yeah, Microslop hoarding data is probably the reason for most of those.
Not humor
Due to this, I went through and unlinked the few accounts I had linked for some reason or another in the past.
This is so annoying and exhausting. Today I gave up linking a bank account with a broker via plaid because they wanted access to all my transactions.
I’ve been telling everyone no to their apps… no to signups … no to scanning your dumb QR code. I’m done logins, accounts, and I never link shit. everything is seperate.
pissed me off when I got a new work laptop, was excited to set it up new and fresh… then fucking microslop decided it would push garbage from the old laptop so it felt identical.
I fucking lost it…disabled my work OneDrive garbage, which they didn’t like me doing one bit but honestly, I don’t care.
Was going to pair until I read what it wanted…
