This picture was created by (iirc) flash freezing donated brain tissue and using a novel cutting technique to remove a cubic millimetre of tissue while preserving the placement and connections of the neurons in the sample. The sample was then placed in a scanning electron microscope and the resulting data was colour coded to reveal distinct cell types. It is, to my knowledge, the most high definition photo ever taken of neurons in their natural state.

How do we know there actually is gayness in this cubic millimetre?
For all I know it could be full of celebrity facts or differential calculus
When one is gay, the gayness affects all parts of them. I mean just look at the colours!
Sexuality and desire come from the subcortical structures of the brain. Because of the layering in the picture and the prevalence of pyramidal cells it’s clearly a section of cortex. Based on the size, shape, and distribution of the cells in the lower section I’d say you have a picture of layers 2 and 3 of the cortex. I can’t tell what part of the cortex though.

Yeah but the neurons that control the anus are controlled by the gayn- brain, THEREFORE, gay.
We’re just beginning to understand the gut-brain signaling interaction, but early research suggests it’s plausible that a large amount of gayness in the anus would have a strong impact on the gayness of the neurons.
