Edit: For context, @db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com discovered that the developer of Tesseract had discretely banned numerous instances and disguised it as a server error. This included more heavily leftist instances, but also blahaj.zone. More recently, it was discovered that they had also been suppressing individual users, phrases, and communities that criticize power tripping on fedi.

Needless to say, I implore non blahaj.zone users to drop the Tesseract client (support for the client has already been dropped for blahaj). So called “liberals” like this who call out “extremism on both sides” are an insult to the values they claim to be upholding.

I never said it was my opinion. I feel no sympathy for them or outrage at them being a target for violence, but I try not to get hung up on what people “deserve.” They shouldn’t have the power they wield, and if killing them is the best way to take it from them, then I’m all for it.

However, it is the system of capitalism that is responsible for their position, and killing a few of them will not change the system. It might be effective terrorism for them to feel like their lives are in danger unless throw us a bone, but it could easily garner them more sympathy or get them to double down on oppression. In order for capitalism to change, masses of people need to be willing to radically change it.
