After nearly 10 years of waiting, it finally happened for me on Monday. Today (Thursday) I will get out of bed for the first time, which is going to be painful. Tomorrow my bandages come off. It’s all a bit unreal for me still. I kinda thought I’d never reach this milestone. The easy part of lying unconscious is done, now for the deliberate work of recovery.
my tired and only very recently awake ass thought you gave birth to a girl and i was like hey yea congrats
and then i read the sub it was in
took a full ten sec
then i realised
congrats girl!!
I did think maybe I should post to trans joy but I saw a 196 post and the rule forced my hand 😔
Why not just post it again? There’s enough joy in this moment to share :3
Fuck yeah! I had surgery about two years ago now so if you have questions or just want to talk about anything you’re welcome to reach out :3
i’m also curious about this as i might get the surgeri soon - what should i prepare for? how should i do the pelvic stretches and how much is the recovery time?
i’m intending for a full vaginoplasty, ideally one that’s self-lubricating and would have a similar microbiome + have good vasculature (all of those would help in getting a uterus transplant), but yeah.
I got peritoneal pull-through which is self lubricating kinda. It’s not in response to anything and it isn’t lubey-lubey but it does keep me more or less self cleaning and I think helps with biome stuff. Recovery I was back on my feet pretty quickly, like attempting walking after only a day and going on slow paced mile walks in under a month. This post and the linked previous posts will tell you a lot about what I was going through: https://lemmy.zip/post/39222527

Congrats!!!

My parents are trying their best to be supportive, even if they don’t fully understand the complex thing that is gender identity. Heck, I barely do
Fair, I need to be less negative sometimes. Sorry.
