well yeah, its meme post, i hate cheap hubs, but dont have money for good ones
thunderbolt 4 is insane, and very very fun to have dock to it
but i have few dollar “dock” and okay just four ports on one side, which is ethernet, headphones(i prefer todo it directly since seems like audio driver here is very good which can handle my high impedance headphones (its up to 1k ohms i have 260 ohms), charging importantly directly since i dont need usb killer from some hubs (macbook air have problems with it), and one is for any peripheria
Fair! My favorite headphones are all below 150ohms, so I luckily don’t need a separate DAC for them. If I did, I would absolutely need a better dock, or worse… Have to plug a second thing in! (My whole goal for my docking setups was to have a single USB-C cable connect as many things as possible, charge at 40w or more, and be as cheap as I can get them)
My actual docks have only got one HDMI port and a smattering of USB-A and USB-C—everything else is taken care of using adapters and splitters affixed to the side of the desks. They look really nice for how much of a mess they technically are!

FYI starting in 2021 Mac’s started including high impedance 3.5mm jack
