Like quake 3 rocket arena? The nostalgia I think of when those words come together, even when forced. What a time.

I was referring to the stadium of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but I like your suggestion better 😁

And to get back to the topic, quake three allowed you to rocket or rail your enemies. Endless options for ruling.

I’m pretty sure that railing your opponent would count as a flagrant foul in basketball, though, no matter what it’s a euphemism for 😄

Rocket Arena for Quake 2 and 3 was exactly where my mind went as well. I was like, “yes, we did in fact rule at Rocket Arena!”.

    Happened in WNBA

The issue with that play is that the players are on different teams, so the ref assumed that it was an attempt to seduce an opposing player to sign with your team. That is clearly against tampering rules. Team employees, including players, may only seduce free agents, not players already signed to a team.

The example OP provided names LeBron, Kyrie, and J. R. Smith, all of whom played together in Cleveland. I assume they mean that the players making out are teammates, so the WNBA ruling is moot.

From what I understand, there is no basketball rule against sloppy makeouts between players on the same team. But that is not to say that it is a valid tactic. The NBA has 2 teams in Florida, 3 in Texas, and several more throughout the South and mid-West. At many arenas, a display contrary to good Christian values will result in security staff and any police present to immediately arrest the offending players, possibly with deadly force.

Tbf, that seems like it was a player kissing someone on the opposite team - I could see how that would violate a rule.

But on the same team? You’re giving up two defenders for this tactic

    what i learned from this:

there is a rule against dogs playing, air bud could only show sportsdogly behaviour and not sportmanly behaviour, everything they do is a technical foul!

And iirc 40% of those LLM search results are wrong. Why waste water and energy on them?

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren’t unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don’t rush mod actions. If a case doesn’t need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
