Israel is part of the west, intimately connected militarily, financially, politically, culturally, and historically. We live in an empire of which Israel is a frontier outpost. The logics that drive Israel are the same that drive our societies. Insisting on a separation between Israel and democratic countries is at best ignorant outrage and at worst setting up Israel as the antisemitic scapegoat so white people can dodge blame.
Ah, so it wasn’t relevant at all, got it. Just a lot of words to try to absolve Israel of the lions share of the blame for the genocide they’re committing, because aNtIsEmItIsM is a classic scape goat for Israel’s crimes.
I don’t absolve the west of their participation, but don’t pretend like Israel isn’t largely responsible for the decades long apartheid state and slow genocide of the Palestinian people that they’ve committed.
