ELI5 if proton is for everyone, why does it matter who they do sponsorships with? Wouldn’t being very eclectic about it be a kind of discrimination or at least following a defined political view? I can’t make, and don’t want to, know the difference between right and left in politic. People tried explaining it to me but I don’t care.

anti fascism means anti fascist no matter what. The fact you don’t care about right wing extremism doesn’t mean shit to me. Keep on using your fascist software, while not caring. Your “convictions”, or lack of, means fuck all to the world

I am ignorant by choice because this political debate is not in my region. I know what fasicm is and condemned it, but I don’t think it is related to some political movement. Rather a rege or way to control people. Could be used in regions even without parties and right and left movement. I also don’t know who the person that caused drama and do not intended to hear him speak. So right now, you did not explain anything to enlight us who do not know this person. You just assume I do know everyone on planet earth and all their political views.

You misread the post title or is extreme naive.

“Proton mail sponsors far right French YouTuber, censors criticism on their subreddit”. Far right is fascism so if you condemned it you condemned this youtuber by whatever the fuck he is saying.

If your sense of right and wrong depends on a map or a label, then I don’t think you have principles… you just have a tribe

Got it, so it was never about free speech, it was about whose speech gets protected

Any type of extremism is wrong on both sides and it leads to humanity’s misery. Premises may differ, but the result is always an authoritarian or totalitarian outcome. Regardless of stated goals, extreme ideologies tend to concentrate power and suppress dissent — this is well-supported historically.
