A lack of alternatives is not an excuse to continue using something you don’t like. I honestly don’t get the culture around all the YouTube hate.
I don’t use shit that I don’t like. I don’t support things that I don’t agree with the practices of. YouTube treats its users and creators like shit. Know what?
They’ll continue to do so as long as people keep using their platform. That’s how it goes. It’s not going to change. And every workaround that is created, will get squashed.
People that are always complaining about it, and then continuing to use it just blows my mind. I’ll never understand it- even when people try and justify it. And that there are no alternatives basically just says that you’re willing to eat whatever shit they serve you, so long as you get your fix.
It’s an addiction at this point. You’re willfully enduring shit you hate so you can have moments of shit you enjoy.
(Not directed at you personally, just those that don’t see what’s going on)
The problem is, any alternative is shit, my preferred creator remain on youtube and i don’t want to stare at a wall when i am bored lmao.
Not using youtube is the worst thing you can do right now for your entertainment, what i do is using Revanced and on desktop Floorp + uBlock and i also try to support FairPlay (an alternative to youtube that is still in development) how i can (can’t do much rn but i can at least spread the voice)
I stopped using YouTube. It’s not hard. Especially when you come to terms with the fact that every video you watch is just telling them you’re okay with what they do.
We seem to have no problem boycotting things we either don’t use, or can easily replace. Don’t like a store? There’s plenty others that will be happy to sell you the exact same items….
But when it comes to actually boycotting significant things in our lives because they are toxic?
I know and I don’t need any of that. Stremio replaces every streaming app except YouTube, so those are the only two apps I need on my TV. If it’s not on YouTube, it’s on Stremio, and vice versa.
Why do people still use YouTube if they hate it so much?
There are literally 0 good alternatives now, my only hope is fairplay (which is now in development)

Naaaah…
A store can give me the same item another sell.
Peertube can’t give me a video of TheLoneGamer or MorroLinux
lol… so again, it seems our ability to stand behind our convictions is directly proportional to how addicted to said thing we are.
If you truly hate YouTube, you’d just stop using it. It’s pretty easy. Go without. I promise it doesn’t hurt.
Don’t like YouTube, do like the content creators on YouTube.
Cause there’s nothing else to watch. YouTube has replaced TV in the average household.
Rabbit ears are cheap and don’t need internet. PlutoTV, Samsung TV, Roku TV all exist. So many free choices.
I know and I don’t need any of that. Stremio replaces every streaming app except YouTube, so those are the only two apps I need on my TV. If it’s not on YouTube, it’s on Stremio, and vice versa.
And none of them have anything worth watching.
It’s not that choice isn’t a thing; it’s that there are thousands of choices and they all suck.
“Hundreds of channels, and nothing good on.”
I generally don’t use rhings that I hate, regardless.
There aren’t really any alternatives.
I’m ok with YouTube due to using strong ad-blockers, browser extensions, and I don’t log in. Seems that these 3 things cut most of the bullshit.
