In general, the Denuvo bypasses will not work. Other games should generally work fine, with the appropriate cracks.

voices38 cracks are traditional cracks, so they should work. It’s really the HV bypasses that absolutely require windows, no workarounds.

Yes, but in my experience, its more work to get it to work. Some games will launch immediately, others you will find yourself tweaking proton settings or installing dependencies. On windows every cracked game just launches immediately.

If they are listed as working on protondb they should work. You download them, add them to steam as a non steam game, choose the proton version that works best with the game and play.

You can use protondb as a guide to what will and will not work. If it is pirate or original usually doesn’t really matter. You can use lutris to make your life easier. If you download from a site that needs you to install extra programs to run the game, just choose them as if they are the game.exe, run it to install, repeat with all needed programs, then change back to the game.exe and play

If anyone reading this cares, Faugus/UMU for a replacement to Lutris if you’re bothered by Lutris using AI in their project.

Honestly I don’t really care so long as Lutris is a viable backend for Cartridges, but Faugus appears to be a lot more streamlined in terms of setting up programs. So, regardless one’s opinion of AI, I think your suggestion is the better of the two options.

Pretty much this. ProtonDB already has people telling you which games work on Linux and any issues that you might run into. Pirated or legit isn’t really relevant.

If it’s a true crack then as long as the game itself works on linux then the cracked version can. You listed the current exception (as hv bypass is not a type of crack).

If the original game runs on Linux, sure.

Otherwise if the original game runs on proton/wine/bottles whatever, I guess it depends and you need to try.

My two cents: if the game already run on Linux, doesn’t matter if it’s emulated native or what, will run both original and pirated.

I use many, goldberg based crack work fine. Online fix work fine too as long as you launch them trough steam with some parameters.

I use most of them in an bottles
