Honestly, that’s the kind of thing that might start a civil war, when factions within the US military decide to reject such horrible orders and turn against their own government instead.
Be careful what you wish for. There is zero chance of the military ‘saving’ the US and handing power to…whom exactly? This is how you get a military junta - and the capitalists in charge would merely be relieved to drop the pretense of democracy. At least then people would realize they can’t vote their way out of this mess.
