Political statements of any kind have always been banned from Eurovision as far as I know. Flags are allowed in support of a competing country, but because Palestine isn’t part of Eurovision, a Palestinian flag can’t be anything other than a political statement (in the context of Eurovision).
I do NOT agree with Israel’s actions or their inclusion in Eurovision but flags should only be used in support of one of the competing nations. Once you open it up as a political forum for demonstration and protest the entire concept is completely ruined. It’s supposed to be a break from the troubles of the real world.
Everything is. You can’t control for the politics of the people voting, but allowing political statements on the stage would be a step too far.
But to reiterate I think Israel should not be allowed to compete, both because of the genocide and the vote manipulation and because they are not in Europe.

Eurovision has always been deeply political, despite their official line.

Vs genocidal Israel being represented on stage…
