I’m not sure that is really the thing holding everyone back. Like gays aren’t being brutally murdered or women being raped, or public funds embezzled because America empire. People are actually just kinda bad unto themselves. If America disappeared today I think our issues would still be there with corruption and poverty.
Or just the end to needless and avoidable suffering and wellbeing for all minds anywhere in existence.
There are really only four scenarios. They stop fighting and forge a lasting peace, one wipes out the other, they continue to fight till the end of time, or both get wiped out.
That was never my argument. Even after WWII there were the Nuremberg trials. Justice should always be there for anyone who committed a war crime regardless of which side of the war they were on and regardless of which country.
Time will reveal all things. As of now there is no way to know between us which is correct and which is not. I suspect more violence won’t aid in bringing lasting peace and that’s more violence from both sides, not just one or the other.
The way things are looking currently scenario two seems to be becoming more likely short of external help. If enough assistance is given to stem Israeli aggression the fight will likely continue later which would bring us to scenario three and possibly at that time back to scenario two.
Now for the mystery scenario four, aka both get wiped out. It is very possible if we reach ASI and it goes rogue or there’s a biosphere collapse due to humanities continued destruction of the global environment. I don’t assume both would get wiped out anytime soon by a third party so I’m mostly assuming it would happen through some global event. Something apocalyptic. In that case all this suffering would have been for nothing quite unfortunately. Both parties lose.
It’s a hypothetical. In reality there’s only so many scenarios here. The fighting stops and they work out a peace agreement. One side fully wipes out the other. The fighting continues as is until the end of time. I personally wish for the first scenario, but it seems you think only the second or third scenario are possible as of now. I guess there’s also the scenario where both sides get wiped out.
I’m not arguing really anything you are saying beyond one thing. When I said I hope not one more person dies from war and everyone on earth can know peace I meant everyone. That infers that any aggressor stops their aggression and that we start working together to know peace. I feel that if the fighting actually stopped (and yes I am aware there have been false ceasefires and bad faith peace talks) and I mean actually stopped right now this moment that trading that for killing more people would be unfortunate. It would be of a greater service to those who come after us to forge peace so that they may know peace.
It’s a philosophical question but if you personally had the choice over actual lasting peace and wellbeing vs killing more people which will likely not bring actual lasting peace and wellbeing (may even condemn many more generations on both sides to suffering) what would you choose for yourself and future generations?
I will go through their response and check their links and if it’s a good faith discussion then I will likely continue.
I am sure somehow more war and death will bring peace unlike the rest of human history where more war and death caused more war and death. I am positive this time is different.
You asked a question, I answered your question, I apologize I guess.
I never said I refuse. I am currently in transport. It’s not conducive to a proper response, just short messages such as this. Also I never said that scrutinizing wasn’t important. I’m not sure your response has much to do with what I said in my previous message.
I don’t believe the whole nation is bad, but I would prefer them to leave at least east Africa alone. I still hope people in their country are well as I wish people in all lands are well.
I’ll be back soon. I’m moving around now… it’s not conducive to a proper response.
I’ll be back soon. I’m moving around now… it’s not conducive to a proper response.
Ideally not one more human dies from war and we can start the process of healing. I think that you can see historically that fighting fire with fire tends to burn everything and everyone. It becomes fuel for group X to revenge on group Y which itself becomes fuel for group Y to revenge on group X and ultimately no one and most definitely not the future generation will know peace.
Either that or one sentence gets picked out of the response and the whole rest of the response gets ignored. It becomes somewhat pointless.
You’re welcome to come and see for yourself to verify your words in person. I can bring you to places and have you ask the people they employ yourself.

So X isn’t bad because Y is worse? Hey we know we enslaved you but we didn’t kill you so it’s fine, the other dude would have killed you so now we’re kinda like the good guys only enslaving you.
