  • it’s a boymoder sweater, which is a 4tran (the trans part of 4chan) meme. “boymoder” being a trans woman who still presents as a man (or a boy)

so ya, mom is trans, and she’s probably crying because the memories of being forced into masculinity as a trans woman aren’t fun ones…

(this one is still so much better than the edit where the daughter says “dad” instead :/)

  • I like that this meme still baited you to replying a year later :D

    OH MY GOD

and the exact same meme too, by you… i am such a predictable creature :(

anyways, yea i do get the meme, and i agree with u about the RAE… and now that i look at it my reply is a bit tone-deaf… i just hate the french language establishment so much lol, it could actually do interesting stuff to help evolve the french language but instead it proposes ludicrously out of touch things (i know i’ve said it before but acolyte des illustres???) and polices people’s language (especially in quebec as you’ve pointed out in other places)

i’m so mad tho. u baited me and i bit like a fucking fish :(

  • i wonder which one was more successful 🤔

idk how much spanish people say “estreamer” but no one, and i mean fucking no one says “joueur-animateur” in french. we just say “streameur”, because it turns out that you can’t really change a word that implanted itself into common usage, especially not when your proposed alternative is infinitely worse (somehow both too vague and too specific, and also too unwieldy to say)

  • yes to a ban, these projects are worthless to most but their authors. and good for them, but they can keep their trash for themselves.

like 95% of new foss projects i see pop up are heavily ai-generated, and often in very unsubtle ways (line half the commits being “co-authored by” claude, that sort of thing)

it would be nice to have a community where we can share and discuss projects made by humans, so they don’t drown in the llm bile
