Linux@lemmy.ml•Bottles' Founder Has Managed to Run Microsoft 365 on Linux
0·29 days agoYou know what? That was a great article. Well researched and not too wordy, so I didn’t get bored. If you skipped it and came straight to the comments, you should click it, Adblock or not.
There’s so much slop out here, we should let them know we like this.
Anyway, as for the content of the article… meh, I don’t care about Office but it would be good for Linux in general to have it working.
Any Linux distro with Plasma Bigscreen. My TV box is an old laptop I got for free from work running Cachy OS. I have a remote-sized keyboard/trackpad that I use to control it. I mostly just need the arrows, but the whole keyboard is there if I need to go in to the desktop OS.
I could use a recommendation for a big-screen ad-blocking YouTube app though.

I said people for a reason. I’m not American and it wasn’t just men.
So is San Fransisco officially a theme park now?
Hanna Montana is a character played by Miley Cyrus’ character in the show Hanna Montana.
I never watched it, but I remember people being real gross about her turning 18. ☹️

Why haven’t I thought of this before??
I got 5 T420s (nice) from my boss last year. Now they’re all running Linux and loaded up with late 90s, early 2000s games to play over LAN
They don’t make this easy to do. I convinced my boss to let me put Linux on some chrome books that we just use for presenters to read from.
It involves disconnecting the battery and some other stupid shit that the boss wasn’t going to approve me doing.
So they stayed on ChromeOS.
People talk about Apple locking their shit down a lot, but I never had to open up a MacBook to install Linux.
You completely skipped the “keep backups” part which prevents most of this.
I have the opposite problem. I don’t care how other people set up their workflow, but I get criticized for not using the defaults while performing better. 🙄
